Testimonials & Stories
Every dancer’s journey is unique, whether it’s building confidence, preparing for auditions, or simply dancing for joy. What unites them all is the safe, supportive space we create together, where dancers can grow, explore, and discover their own authentic voice through movement.
Building Confidence and Finding Authenticity
"Sarah has been the most supportive teacher for my daughter. She’s supported her through a time when her confidence was rock bottom and helped her get past the negativity she faced. Sarah has a magical way with her dancers that helps them to understand more than just the moves they are doing, it’s understood from deeper within, and the dancing now really comes from the heart."
I’ve been teaching this dancer since she was a mini, but she began coming to me for private classes to find a safe space after some negative dance experiences. Much of our early work focused on mindset coaching: rebuilding confidence, giving her the freedom to dance without judgment, and exploring movement simply for the joy of it. In jazz and lyrical classes, we would try new combinations every couple of weeks, aiming to connect with the movement and with herself in an authentic way.
As her confidence grew, our work shifted to audition preparation, choreography, improvisation, and managing performance nerves. Her dedication and resilience paid off: she was offered places with Royal Ballet Mid Associates, Elmhurst Associates, and Tring Classical Ballet Academy. She also excelled in exams and competitions, culminating in reaching the finals of the All England Dance Competition in 2024.
Many dancers come with a specific goal, but as they grow, these goals often evolve. Being a multidisciplinary teacher allows me to adapt and pivot to meet their changing needs. I believe that only when dancers feel safe from the fear of failure can they truly connect with themselves, the music, and the movement. That’s when the magic happens: performances become organic, expressive, and genuinely captivating for the audience.
From Injury Setbacks
to Rambert
"Sarah is wonderful! She’s everything you could hope for in a dance teacher. She takes the time to know and understand every individual dancer and how best to support them. She listens to them, helping to prepare them with the best mindset for all their dance activities and for a career in dance."
When this dancer first started training with me, she was recovering from injury, had lost confidence, and was struggling to reconnect with her love for ballet. We began with PBT and strength work, but the most important part was creating a safe space where she could simply be herself and move in ways that felt good to her.
A move from vocational training back to her local dance school meant she faced a series of exams with little preparation time. As a multidisciplinary teacher, I supported her across ballet, modern, national, and classical Greek, helping her not only to feel confident but to excel. She achieved her highest exam result yet, 98 in modern, and went on to reach the finals of both the Janet Cram Awards and the UK Young Theatre Dancer 2024 under my coaching.
I then guided her through college auditions, preparing solos and choreography. She was accepted onto programmes in ballet, contemporary, and musical theatre, accepting a place at Rambert School.
Private coaching doesn’t replace regular training, but it creates a space to explore individual goals, build confidence, and elevate dancing to the next level.

Nurturing a Love of Dance
"Sarah has such a warm, nurturing spirit and truly shares her love of dance with everyone around her. She brings out the best in her dancers with constant encouragement and support. My daughter absolutely loved every moment with her."
This little dancer came to me purely because she loved to dance and wanted to do more, the most beautiful motivation of all. We explored ballet to Disney tunes, tried new and creative techniques, made up dances, and practised competition solos, all in a relaxed, non-pressured environment where the only goal was to enjoy movement.
Dance doesn’t always have to be about perfecting technique, achieving the next skill, or winning trophies. Sometimes it’s simply about having fun, moving, and connecting with the joy of dance.
Helping Neurodiverse
Dancers to Thrive
"My daughter has really enjoyed her ballet lessons and has come on so much since starting. Sarah is professional, kind and really understands her, always adapting to what she needs and keeping me updated after each session."
This young dancer began in my minis class and, with an ADHD diagnosis, initially found it challenging to focus. As she progressed to my junior class, I provided a structured routine tailored to her needs, alternating static and moving exercises, starting class with energetic warm-ups, and incorporating her love of numbers and sums into rhythm games, especially helpful on days when focus was more difficult.
I work closely with parents, using their insight to create an environment where every student can flourish. Over the years, I’ve supported many neurodiverse dancers, including those with autism, sensory processing disorder, dyscalculia, dyslexia, Tourette’s, and ADHD. My goal is always to create a space where dancers can thrive and reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
Teaching More Than Just Steps
"Sarah has a way of building confidence in her dancers, she inspires and nurtures them to become the best they can be. She builds an instant rapport with her students and her classes are engaging, disciplined and hard work but so rewarding."
This dancer showed a natural affinity for movement from a young age, so our classes have focused on nurturing her talent and helping her feel inspired and comfortable in the studio.
Lessons are always a blend of fun, challenge, and growth: engaging exercises, structured technique work, and opportunities to explore her own artistry. Over time, she has learned to trust herself and her choices, developing strong instincts and a deeper understanding of her craft.
I don’t simply teach dancers what to do, I aim to help them understand how, why, and what it should feel like. My goal is to develop dancers who can think, question, analyse, and make their own informed artistic choices. I’m not just teaching them to dance; I’m teaching them how to be dancers.
From Technique to
True Artistry
"Sarah is the most incredible teacher, working with my daughter 1:1 on a weekly basis. She has given her the space and time to develop both her technique and musicality. Sarah is extremely adaptable and experienced in so many different genres my daughter can work on areas to develop in a safe and personalised environment."
When this dancer first began training with me, she already had strong foundations and solid technique. Her goal was to go deeper, developing musicality, artistry, and finding greater flow and connection in her movement.
We approached this by deconstructing her solos to focus on the shapes she was creating rather than just the steps, exploring phrasing and dynamics, and connecting breath with both music and movement. As she discovered these connections, her interpretation grew more layered, nuanced, and authentic.
Through trust, curiosity, and a willingness to step beyond her comfort zone, she blossomed into a true artist, performing with conviction, honesty, and individuality. That transformation has led to success at competitions, including awards for musicality.
For me, the most powerful growth happens when dancers are free to experiment and play. It’s not about right or wrong, but about exploration, and that’s where artistry is born.
